Savannah and Adam’s wedding at The Lake House in Wolcott, CT on November 10th, 2024 was the kind of day that stays with you—not just because it was gorgeous, but because it was so them. The venue already has that serene lakeside charm, but these two brought in a blend of elegance and delightfully nerdy personality that made their celebration feel wonderfully unique.

Right from the start, their color palette—deep purples paired with soft seafoam green—set the tone. It was playful, vibrant, and totally fitting for a late-fall celebration. Savannah looked stunning in her handmade cloak, and Adam’s face during their first look down by the water was everything. We played a small trick on Adam, pretending Savannah was playing her Nintendo Switch, which brought out some shock and genuine smiles, and gave us some of the sweetest portraits of the day.

Walking into the reception, though, was when you really got a sense of who they are. Instead of traditional centerpieces, each table featured a d20 terrarium—yes, full fantasy-gamer glory—complete with loose dice and guitar picks scattered around the place settings. It was such a fun nod to their shared hobbies, and guests absolutely loved it!

The ceremony by the lake, in front of a huge willow tree, felt intimate and warm, despite the crisp November air. And once everyone moved inside, The Lake House turned into this cozy, glowing celebration full of candles, laughter, and some impressively enthusiastic dancing. Their crowd and the band knew how to keep a dance floor lively.

Before the night wrapped up, we slipped outside for a few portraits in front of the lake house. I used some extra flashes to add some fun colors to their evening portraits. Between the still lake, the chilly air, and their nonstop smiles, it was the perfect ending.

Savannah and Adam’s day was heartfelt, personal, and full of character—an absolute joy to photograph.
