Harbor Lights | Warwick, RI

It’s mini-mony season and Harbor Lights is my second stop! It’s so different shooting here with so few people but it is still so pretty! Tie did a fantastic job there helping Alex and Michael have a beautiful and intimate wedding. There were 17 guests in total which I actually find exciting and every person there definitely gets photographed!

We met at Harbor Lights that day and staged a few getting ready photos. I do this a lot when a timeline is super tight or if the getting ready location is really far from the reception site. There are always final touches that can be done on-site. Especially things like putting in the veil, lip retouching, putting on boutonnieres or fixing ties.

Alex and Michael decided against having a DJ because there is still a ban on having an open dance floor so what is the happy couple to do for processional and recessional music? Well, they have their very talented family and friends fill the air with the romantic sounds of kazoo’s and give this photographer, and everyone else, the laugh that we all need right now. Seriously. Here comes the bride with kazoo’s is the funniest and best thing ever.

Formals were set up inside which is the easiest way to do it on rainy days. I provide my own lighting and we get it done really quickly! Even better the rain cleared up which we were shooting so we could go outside for bridal party and couple portraits.

I tried something very different this time for photos. I know Alex was super bummed about the weather and about having to downsize their wedding. She had really wanted sunset photos by the water, but even though it was dry, it was very cloudy and gray. (Grey? Does anyone even know?) So I decided to try my hand at a sky swap and give her her vision for the day! It takes a lot of extra work but sometimes a day and a bride deserve that extra!
